December has a bit of getting out of hand, but between the present buying, card writing and Christmas dinner planning, there should always be time for the traditions that make it the most wonderful time of the year. Like getting together friends or rounding up the family and escaping for a very special festive afternoon tea in Cornwall.
Head of Pastry Purva has been letting her creativity run wild with this year’s creations. There are the usual finger sandwich suspects, suitably dressed for Christmas, alongside Baileys choux buns, peppermint macaroons, orange and cranberry scones with brandy clotted cream, and a chocolate Christmas tree for sharing.
Hidden down a winding lane between Looe and Polperro, we're well-placed for a December disappearing act away from the Christmas chaos. Settle in with a view of the Cornish coast, order a pot of tea or bring some fizz to the occasion, and enjoy an afternoon with absolutely nothing on the agenda beyond good company and another helping of cake.
