COME AND EXPERIENCE

Jam first

Or second… we don't mind. All we want is for you to devour our delicious scones, served with clotted cream. We also prepare a range of tasty sandwiches, using local ingredients. Plus our chefs create a range of fresh pastries for you to enjoy.

We regularly change our afternoon tea menu to reflect the seasons and ingredients available. This gives you a great excuse to indulge repeatedly throughout the year.

COME AND EXPERIENCE

Traditional or tipsy

Afternoon tea set with a three-tiered stand holding assorted pastries, sandwiches, and scones, alongside a teapot and a cup of tea, on a wooden table with pink background.

Afternoon teas have evolved since 1840, when Anna, the seventh Duchess of Bedford, decided that afternoons were shamefully foodless.

At Talland Bay, you can tuck into a moreish selection of fresh homemade cakes, sandwiches and scones. Alongside the food, we offer tea and coffee, as well as a crisp glass of bubbly or a G&T. This is your afternoon tea, for you to enjoy how you want.

Available until the 12th October. Halloween season is then in full swing until the 1st November when our traditional offering will be served until the 30th November.

Please be aware a booking is required for afternoon tea, with a minimum of 24 hours notice so our chefs have time to prepare your delicious treats.

festiVE afternoon tea

This isn’t your standard mince pie and mistletoe affair. After all, Christmas at Talland Bay promises stockings-full of deliciousness and a side of seaside sparkle.

Our Festive Afternoon Tea is a feast of whimsy and wonder, with layer-upon-layer of treats that are worth being on your best behaviour all year for. There are orange and cranberry scones with brandy clotted cream, and sweet treats that aren’t all they first seem, in a tower with lots of sugar, a touch of spice, and everything else oh-so-very nice.

It’s available from the 1st to 23rd December. Book your table and we’ll save you a seat (and pop your name on the nice list…)

We’re a bit in love with all the brilliant local people who supply our kitchen. They are the unsung heroes behind every delicious bite you take. The fishermen, farmers, cheesemongers, butchers and wine merchants all make the magic possible.

By sourcing most of our food locally, our food is fresh and tasty. Plus we are proud to support our neighbours, who are doing fantastic work.
