It’s really important that everyone who works at Talland Bay is invested in a common purpose and considers themselves part of one big family. From the kitchen team to housekeeping and front of house, it is pivotal to everything we do and it’s what makes us different. This also translates into the welcome that our guests receive, as they should feel part of the family too. Whenever you arrive at our welcoming, whitewashed property, you experience a feeling of coming home.
We have some big, memorable characters working with us, and our guests get to know them by name and look forward to seeing them. That's one of the things that people love about coming here and why they return again and again.
As with any family, there is a whole lot of support here at Talland Bay. There is also real empathy. We all take the time to understand the needs of each guest and do our utmost to make sure that everybody feels special. We've had times when newlyweds have wanted to book a last-minute stay with us due to burst pipes in their suite at another hotel, and we have gone out of our way to offer them a free night's stay and make sure the rest of their honeymoon went swimmingly. It's all about the people.
Home from home
The home from home feel runs through everything the hotel team does, and we've recently launched a new dining experience as part of this. Our improvements don't mean forgoing any of the quality our guests have come to expect, but we wanted to share that feeling of coming home to your family.
So many businesses make the mistake of prioritising the need to make money above all else. Our guests come first and we want them to see Talland Bay as somewhere to stay, enjoy, and be looked after; a spiritual home.

Talland holds a very dear place in my heart as we were married there a few years ago. Since then, we have returned often; the greeting, service and standards have always been the same (outstanding!) whether we are popping in for lunch or getting married! The staff provide the best customer service experience I have ever come across, without it being pretentious, the hotel is beautiful and quirky, but comfortable and relaxing.
