Coastal Walks around the Looe Coastline

This section gives details on local walks in the region which can be used to
discover some of the many habitats discussed within this report.

Polperro to Looe – five miles

Start: Polperro Harbour

• From the harbour follow the coastal path to the East of the harbour
• The coastal path will climb up a narrow lane, where it will eventually widen
• Keep to the coastal path and you will eventually arrive at Downend Point
• Follow the coastal path from Downend Point to Talland Bay
• At Talland Bay walk through the car park until you reach some steps which take you out of the village
• Walk up these steps and take the coastal path past Hendersick Point to Portnalder Bay
• From Portnalder Bay follow the coastal path to Hannafore
• From Hannafore follow the footpath down into Looe town centre
• From Looe you can either decide to walk back the way you came or you can catch a bus back to Polperro every hour

End: West Looe

Looe to Talland Bay Circular Route – seven miles

Start: Millpool Car Park

• From the inland end of the car park take the footpath to Giant Hedge through Kilminorth Woods
• When the path leaves the woods it will join with a country lane
• Follow the country lane up the hill until you reach a main road
• Pass over the road and continue along the country lane
• Turn right at Trencreeck Holiday Park and follow the path down to Talland Bay
• At Talland Bay take the coastal path to the east of the beach
• Follow the coastal path back to Looe
