Areas of Interest Inland in Cornwall
This section of the report gives some information on local nature reserves and other areas of interest to visitors to the region. Firstly 37% of the South West of England is protected by legislation because of its scenary, wildlife or habitat.
In Cornwall there are 166 Sites of Special Scientific Interest and 12 Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. These areas have been given special recognition because of there uniqueness or because of the rare species that live there. Two of the most spectacular SSSIs in Cornwall are the Bedruthan Steps and Park Head.
