The Isles of Scilly

A smattering of tiny granite islands, some 45 km off Land ’s End, the Isles of Scilly are ecologically important, due to the large numbers of rare birds which use them as a stopping off point during migration. Populations of seals and porpoises flourish here and there are fantastic intertidal habitats.

The Isles of Scilly can be accessed via air or sea – there is a heliport and the Scillonian III ferry at Penzance. Fixed wing aircraft links are available from Land ’s End and Newquay airports.
