The Eden Project
Opened to the public in 2001, the Eden Project continues to grow, and in 2002 was the second most popular tourist attraction in England. Once an exhausted china clay pit,the enormous crater now houses three giant conservatories or biomes. The world ’s largest greenhouse hosts a mini rainforest. Its smaller sister transports you to the hot, dusty climate of South Africa and California with its citrus groves and gnarled cork oaks while the 30 acre roofless biome outside re-creates the environment of Chile and the Indian hills.
Tickets for the Eden Project are available from Reception. Purchasing your ticket before you go can save you from queuing unnecessarily at Eden. Tickets can be directly charged to your room if you wish (We have Adult and senior tickets only, it is possible to purchase children ’s and Family tickets at Eden). Eden also hosts musical and theatrical events during the summer months – the ‘Eden Sessions ’.
